When a representative from Google reached out with interest in potentially featuring People of Color in a shoppable music video for buying Black-owned on Black Friday, I was all ears! That was in early October.
After a few back and forth emails, I didn’t hear anything else...until I received an email on November 18 with the music video, social deck for sharing, and congratulations on being featured. 😅😁! I couldn’t believe it! I didn’t even know who ordered the nail polish—still don’t!—that made it into the video. Yes, they actually bought the polish!
To be part of Google’s first shoppable music video is such an amazing feeling! Not only for People of Color, but for the over 50 Black-owned brands featured as well. I was so happy to see brands that I have seen, and watched grow, plus brands who I know personally!
The lesson in this for me and to share with you, is to always keep producing the best products, services, and experience that you can for your brand—even if you think nobody is watching, because someone always is!
